World Tourism Day 2017, globally observed every year on September 27, highlights the social, cultural and economic value of tourism. The most important question, as we celebrate this day, is “How can we contribute to make the Maldives a better place?”
This year, Meeru Island Resort staff will be participating in Blood Donation Day to coincide with World Tourism Day 2017 and the commitment to making the Maldives a better place. By taking the time to donate, our teams will be giving someone else a chance at life.
The Blood Donation Drive will be held at the ‘Ekuveni’ Staff Area, from 0930 and ends at 1600.
Meeru also welcomed students from the local Majeedhiyaa School that is located in Male’ City for an Exposure Trip by the Maldives Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with schools and universities in the Maldives.
The trip will create awareness and foster career development among the students and enhancing the perspective around the Maldives tourism industry.
Last year, Meeru hosted a variety of tourist-friendly activities, including Coral Planting, Maldivian Cultural Shows and fun outdoor games. These guest favorites were also part of the World Tourism Day 2017 celebrations at Meeru.
Help us continue to make a difference on our Island and the Maldives environment by protecting our precious corals, marine life and vegetation.
