Teppanyaki at Meeru Island

Over-the-water Asian Wok Restaurant & Bar offers the popular Teppanyaki dining experience, where our chefs prepare your dinner on a flat metal griddle and open flame while you enjoy the theatrical show in true Japanese style.

 

The chefs will grill, flip and cook tiger prawns, white fish, scallops, lobster, tuna, meats and an assort of fresh vegetables on a flaming metal griddle in front of you. And, for dessert, try the delicious Teppanyaki Fruit Ice Cream or Teppanyaki Pancake with Fruit and Ice Cream.

 

The Teppanyaki table seats 8 guests and overlooks Meeru’s sparkling lagoon for an exciting and unforgettable experience of Japanese cuisine in the Maldives. Your choice of dishes can be selected from Asian Wok’s a la carte menu to be prepared fresh and served right from the teppan hot plate.

 

Tip: All menus are also served with salad, miso soup, vegetables and fried rice.

Secrets to Success: 22 Years Mastering the Princess Boat

Ismail Ali is affectionately known as “Princess Ismail” for his 22 years of service as the Captain of the Princess Boat at award-winning Meeru Island Resort & Spa. Ismail first joined in 1996 as Assistant Captain and was promoted to Captain shortly thereafter. His accolades include a Niyami License and the Coastal Navigation, Class 5, which is of an International level in Yachting and Boating. Ismail offers insightful secrets to success in the Guest Transport arena and navigating the Maldivian seas.

 

Meeru is only a 55-minute speedboat transfer away from Velana International Airport, making it the ideal choice for holidaymakers. The Guest Transport department of the Resort ensures that guests are transferred safely to and from the Island, whether upon arrival, departure or fun excursions around the North Male’ Atoll.

 

Ismail is one of the team members who contribute to guests’ safe and memorable journeys aboard the Princess Boat. The exciting trip to two of the best reefs in the atoll starts at 0900, right after your breakfast in one of our stunning buffet restaurants, Farivalhu and Maalan. You will be back on the Island at 1200 to enjoy the delicious choices at our lunch buffet.
